this is what i had to do was null modem and cross over to try and get an image on it took me ages to get it ,kept coming back sayiing error ,tried it umpteen times till i finnaly got a differnet image on it

no worries, just digging out the null modem cable and then i'll report back with the findings...nothing ventured and all that......

dreamup finds it and then it gets to the end, and says waiting for responce and then the screen says the same, NO CA found......is this just going to be me trying and trying now you thinks? lol...you got to love a mess on with stuff aint ya!

dont you just the only problem i have now is i can get fta ones to work but cant get anything else to work ,by the way everything WAS working before i played around with it :roflmao:

nope just can not get it to go past the point of when the little green dots fill up on dreamup and then it states waiting for responce, tried IP way as well? think i should start a new thread? lolol....might be a long night!

youy are using null modem cable as well as a cross over cable?

i have it connected to a router mate so shouldn't need a cross over cable? null modem connectes fine....port 1

ok tried that version of dreamup and back into the flash menu, cool! that's mint that like, thanks for that...

@ notanotherone - cross over cables and that were out before routers matey so they changed the end of the pins around, a cable went from pin 1 to pin 1, so a cross over cable changed them to something like pin 1 to pin 10 etc....a router then comes along and does this all for ya.....so strange why you needed a cross over cable in this day and era....

Thanks to all though, just flashing me backup i done......i'll let you know what happens and that about the bootloader...

i cant get it to take the flash via the web interface, i see the bootloader is around about 69 on it now, i gues it's going to be 79 minutes via dreamup and the null modem cable then for me sinns? tried flashing the 84 bootloader via the gui and that just spit me out with an error.....?

edit...: Flashin the stock image to it....lets see what happens.....

OK chaps, all back up and running, flashed the stock black hole image and then flashed me back up that i done, all sorted, right what to do now? try just updating the simm.....or maybe make a cup of coffee and sit back and watch some TV, after all that's what these are for.....just set the smoke alarm off in the kitchen heating some Nan breads as well! guess that's telling me some thing ain't it? lol......don't try this image on a clone by the way...lol it don't work!

You never said which method you used to flash it when it went wrong m8?

Did you flash ssl then full reboot or did you flash ssl and then reboot just to the web interface?

i flashed the new ssl and then as soon as it rebooted i flashed the image, i did notice when it started to boot the 2nd time that it said it had the new boot loader, just the little bit between the time it starts and then it says **STOP** etc..... curiosity is going to get the better of me here ain't it? and maybe try and just flash the ssl....lol...after me burnt nan bread supper that is!

Ah ok so you did not do a full reboot after the ssl like I said originally then :grayno:

ah did ya? me not listen then? and just piled in and flashed the ssl and then straight into the new image with out letting it reboot..., OK then, ima flash the ssl, i'll let it reboot.....and then i'll flash that image again....back in a mo...(for the love of DW and science eh!) lol...

yeah mate after clearing the toaster of burned nan breads and the water going off last night and my lucky escape passed that horrendous crash on the M5 on Friday i decided that I'd just head to bed, after turning off all the electric and making sure my defibrillator was in working order! (might give this another go when it warms up in here, the lab is sub zero at the moment!)
