Free tool to convert any to iso image....

the download is a daa image, convert it to iso using this free program

here:AnyToISO Converter - Convert various CD/DVD-ROM images to ISO format | CRYSTALIDEA Software

i have added the torrent file for you to the post... this is live xp cd

burn it to disk and select boot from disk in you boot menu..

revise the thread, and proceed as if you have your windows running - drive c: will still be the root drive for you HD's windows installation.

come back if you have problems, the daa image is 150MB when decompressed to ISO it is 350MB :) download took about 10 minutes DHT enabled on Utorrent. I also forgot about mini xp in hirens lmfao (it is fookin pants though lol)

hi there again m8 ive downloaded the torrent file and also the anytoiso, ive opend the anytoiso program an it carnt find the .daa file is there anyother program to use to burn the .daa file?

i used magic iso maker as it was already installed on all my pc's

little blog here with a simple app to convert i believe, read the short forward and download if you don't have magic iso..

in all honesty if you have hirens then mini XP should allow you to boot and make the changes to the files that i mentioned. These changes are not going to loose any of the data one the drive and they look to only take a few ticks to sort. Of course if they don't cure the problem then you may have to think about data backup and repair install.

yep m8 done it just tring to burn it now with imgburn then will go bck to threds an do wot u sed in first place an hopefully can get it workin again

good, when you get it booted follow the instruction in post 6, goto the folder and rename the file mentioned (it has no extension it is just called "SECURITY" change its name first of all to SECURITY.BAK
then goto the repair folder right click on the copy of SECURITY in there and paste it into the folder with SECURITY.BAK in, once done reboot from HD and keep fingers crossed :)

Have u run up miniXP?

I've had a re read n I would be more tempted to use hirens first n save ya data, as that's what important to you, reading the first post.

I would then be running a HDD check as I would be more concerned why it happened! After that I would run spyware n antivirus checks while booted from hirens or any method other than booting to windoze.

Then and only then would I try to fix windoze so as to be happy that the system won't be in to bad a state if I mange it, and I have my data backedup if I don't.

Bloody long winded I know but this will stand more chance of a perm fix in the shortest time IMHO.

ive got the disc booted up now its given me four option :

my computer, my network place, internet explorer and command prompt

wer wud i change the security?

goto my computer > c: drive > windows > system32 > config >

find the file called SECURITY in there and rename it SECURITY.BAK

minimise the window

goto my computer > c: drive > windows > repair

find SECURITY in there and copy it

open the other window and paste the file in there.

"LSASS.EXE Terminated Unexpectedly with Status Code -1073741571" Error Message when You Install BearShare

normally i would jump straight up and agree BUT reading the filesharing software being used and looking at this article i would tend not to suggest this is any kind of virus activity.
I assume the OP to have antivirus ect in place.:)

Yeah sorry m8 not trying to hijack ya help, LOL It was the arrrrrgh post that prompted my post to hopefully get the op to see files n reduce blood pressure! but you'd moved on quite a bit before I got it posted.

I'll get me coat.

I was drawing the conclusion that this is not isolated or uncommon lol - it is not easy to define a cause but it does seem pretty common to hapen out of the blue on reboots. so hopefully we will get it started up lol

no mate they were 2 different methods to achieve the same end, if you have done it with live cd then reboot and lets hope it comes back to life

use xp live to backup your essential data files to pen drive, and reformat the drive and reinstall the operating system.

ok will do m8 cheers for all ya help, av to go get another windows disc now so will leave the formatting untill 2moro cheers again m8

no worries, unfortunately it does look like you have some kind of infestation going on - each time you take a step forward you probably gonna take 2 back. Virus scan all files that are backed up DO NOT load a single file back into your system until you have some reasonable security software.

As an extra download windows defender its free for licenced windows users. Make sure everything is on and runing before letting any of those files into your system. Do not backup any exe's obviously:)

Added;

to run keygens ect always use "Sandboxie", this will afford some protection from dubious nasties in them
