Xbox360 120GB Elite & Xbox 360 250GB

I am looking to buying an Xbox360 for my son for Christmas and was wondering if someone could tell me the difference between the above boxes apart from the size of the hard drive.

So the Elite is big and the other is smaller but bigger if it has a 250gb drive. Which is the better buy?
