Xbox 360 usb hdd

Guys I know nothing about soft modding xbox 360 etc. never played on, never even turned one on.

My Son wants one for xmas, so I need to learn so I have a few questions.

He won't be playing online

1; is it possible to run games from an external drive like you do on a wii or ps3? if so question 2 below

2; I take it if this is possible the xbox would need to be jtagged?

3: if this is possible what format are the games in Iso,'s ?? or do you extract the iso like I do with the wii

4: what format for the usb drive fat32 /ntfs?

5: what make and size of drive

What progs do I need on the drive? and on the pc?

6 if all this is possible why do peeps burn dvds for their games

yes you can play games from hdd but as you say it will need to be jtagged that will depend on dash
