Wireless USB adapter

M8;
for exemple , I am in Algeria, and the internal wifi dongle is not availaible, so I haven't another solution except ussing USB dongle. :)

Not to mention the internal Wifi module is sold at rip-off price. I believe it only operates upto 54Meg i.e: G speeds not N speeds. Or is this incorrect ?

Wheres a TP LINK USB dongle can be had for £ 6. Or i've seen N spec USB dongles for around 10 quid.

Is this because it doesn't cover the frequencies for your country or because it's not offered for sale there?

What's the point in a faster dongle when its top speed is only 1.2mbps (LAN) anyways...

As for the price, you get what you pay for I guess :)

i have a box full of brand new sealed N spec dongles here, as well as the whole source code needed to create the drivers, ive tried, and failed i dont know how many times to make the drivers

these dongles would also be around £11 each

Does the above quote include your TM lol sorry m8 couldent resist it:Biggrin2:

lol

See what happens when you don't spend £300 :)

Problems, Problems :(

I tried to compil drivers but no way, i think that E2 of TM800 is different from E2 of DM or VU+

You may knock the TM800 but when fitted with the official WiFi adapter it's one of the most sensitive Wifi units I've ever used, it picked up networks from streets away, nothing that any of my laptops and other devices can do.

Useful if you live in a home that blocks radio signals.

The main problem I find with mine, is it does not work on a secured network.
However it does pick up my neighbours unsecured network up quite nicely .

Bottom line for me is my routers behind my tv.... So errrrr a cat 5 cable is good enough and I am using some home plugs to network my other box, which I have to say are an excellent bit of kit

So does mine, but it then intermittently drops out every couple of minutes, something my phone and Wii don't do, even when they're sitting right next to TM800HD. In fact I haven't found any black spots in my house for wi-fi.

Using encryption or not?

I prefer to use MAC locks as encryption with some portable devices makes their CPU work harder and therefore slower..

A TM800 I installed (no encryption) works perfectly with 0 drops so something must be up somewhere..

anyone know the email adress for QI Team? perhabs if we mail them, they give us solution.

You do know it takes about 20mins to get past your encryption :)

LOL, if you're prepared to sit outside my house for 20 mins and guess one of my MACs, then you are welcome to all my porn... just leave the midget stuff alone as it can shock some :)

I presume you are a Microsoft user on your PCs. There is Linux software out there that would take more like 20 seconds, especially on a fast laptop, and the bulk of recent identity theft cases are linked to organised gangs in cars parked in residential streets.
