Can anyone who was lucky enough to get hold of a Wii confirm whether it has an Ethernet port on it?

it doesn't have ethernet it has wireless but you can buy an ethernet adaptor

I have a standard PC USB to Ethernet adaptor. It will be interesting to know if it works in the Wii, rather than using the official one, which I am sure will be expensive?

You will have to let me know too, as I am in the same situation. I have no wireless and don't really want to go wireless. Hope it works.

Its probably cheaper to go wireless these days then buying an adapter... PC World was selling the Linksys WRT54GS for £41 last time I checked.

I have a wired network mate, so won't be buying a wireless router.

I'll give it a go when I get my Wii and post my findings

I have wired network to with wireless, if you cant run a cable to your wii for what ever reason, also look into a Wireless Access Point, can probably pick one up from ebay for £20-30 depending on brand.

My SMC USB-2-Ethernet adaptor did not work on the Wii.

Anyone suggest any cheap options to get the Wii on the net, on a wired network?

Currently I see my options as:

1) Official Wii USB-2-Ethernet adaptor - probably about £30 when released
2) Buying a wireless access point (£30) and plugging it into my wired network router
3) Any others?

Does anyone know if the official ethernet adaptor from Japan will work on a UK PAL Wii? I assume that it will?
