Dreambox 800/800SE = Single Tuner = Record when away/ can't Record when watching
Dreambox 8000 = Dual Tuner = Record and watch at the same time

i would think you could record with most of them first if its a dm 500s you would have to mount it to your nas drive or pc all the other you can mount or put a harddrive in then its all down to the softwere that you use
