whats the best image ?

as long as you dont turn the box off it will still work as the image is already booted. try ftping the image into tmp again and make sure it is called backup.img just run this part of the command as you have already flash erased.

cd /tmp && cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot

or if you are already at the tmp folder in the telnet window

cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot

the other option is to rename the image in tmp to root.cramfs and flash with the onboard menu on the box via the remote.

too late buddy.
i unplugged the box and put in my 2nd dm500s.
looks like i'll have to dreamup.

can you suggest for me an image to flash onto the box and where i can find it? dont like the open pli unstable, too glitchy. could all of this have happened because of the jadePLI image i tried to flash?

also,
im having trouble installing cccam on my 2nd box.
i installed it via the plugins menu,
entered my flines and boxkey via FTP
but i cant set it as default softcam under softcam management.
it just doesnt show up.

any help?
cheers.

I use commando cause i like the neutrino interface, not so many plug ins though and no downloads server. Runs cccam no problem. You could try a nabilosat image like darkstar2.

well i got some enigma channel lists so i would prefer to use an enigma image.
how do i go about fixing this cccam issue?

got it fixed mate.
reflashed to jade pli 3 and it seems to have done the trick.

Thanks.

Hey guys,
is there a telnet script To flash and backup the box?
doing queit a bit of flashing recently and typing it up is prone to errors
also, how do you reboot the box via telnet?
Cheers,
CrazyFool.

Dont type the commands copy and paste them to a wordpad doc and save them to your desk top. Easier than trying to remember them or type them, you can copy and paste them in a telnet window.

I see,
so there isnt a batch file i can make like you can with that sort of thing?

You could make a script but you would need to ftp it to the box each time you flashed a new image on,quicker doing what the bigman said and just copy and paste,

as for rebooting through telnet,

from the telnet prompt type:

reboot

:)
