Although these are good cars they cost a fortune in spares if anything breaks. I have just changed the wiper linkage on a 5 series it was a complete nightmare. For a start you need specialist pullers/tools just to get the wiper arm bush off because they are so close to the windscreen any form of leverage would/will break the glass.So think carefully on this one. Sorry The Dentist I am just stating the facts.
Seem to hear the same experience from all the BMW owners at work. Great while they are working but nightmare if they go wrong.
miggy that was tongue in cheek lol. i know how expensive they are to own, although my 5 series has been a gem! the only thing thats gone wrong for me is the windscreen squirter thing. I just got the whole system replaced this week as the water wasnt coming out.
but god they are good to drive and wouldnt swap it. it is the 7 series that will be next tho
