webstar dpx100 and willem

hi everyone #could do with a few pointers
i have a few webstars dpx100's
yes i know they cant be done yet ....which is why i started this post

i have taken the modem apart and removed the flash chip
the chip is an sst M28W160CT Chip database: ST Micro M28W160CT
i have a willem eprom programmer 4.5 tsop48

i have read that these programmers are not compatible with writing to the chip but are compatable to read them (can anyone verify this)

what i would like to know is could the flash be saved from this chip altered and then writen to an equivelant chip (say an intel flash chip) effectivaley cloning the modem?
