vw golf mk5 horn problem

Since the snow my horn has sounded like an old mini horn, I take it there are two horns (high and low pitch) on the golfs?

In the Haynes manual the picture shows it by the washer water tank which is located on the drivers side but the one that I can hear comes from the passenger side.

Are the horns together on the car or is one on the passengers side and the other on the drivers side behind the bumpers? I take it this is a fault due to water?

I can get my hands on a set of horns from a 2002 mark 4 golf but will they work in a mk5?

Sorry, can't help mate but I am interested to see any responses, think I've got the same problem but I ain't up on cars & didn't realise there were 2 horns. Hopefully somebody will help us out.
