VU+ Solo Vu solo update?

Hi guys a friend of mine has a clone VU SOLO, it has not been on since December last year, does he need to update it, like you do with VU SOLO2 Clone to avoid it been bricked and need the chip replacing, thanks.

no just use clone images for the chip it as v1 v2

try and grab a vix image v3.0 build 600. this version was very clone friendly although the feeds are now switched off, the autobouquets still works

If its working why update it. Unless there is a specific reason ?

As above make sure you know what version clone it is then flash the appropriate image.

For clone vu solo don`t do update! Just new image or the same image with new version. There are a lot of things were are change! Now is 2014. Everything is better.
