USB to Serial U232 P-9 problem.

i bought one of those adapters never did get it to work and used my old desktop with xp on it
anyway you could get your hands on an old desktop with a serial port mate parents etc
you say the box has no ip is this because you have no internet or the box needs to be recovered
as you could try ethernet cable between laptop and box may need to be crossover cable
last resort you could look at something like this

Go to device manager on your pc, highlight the serial port you are using and right click, then click uninstall. Restart your pc then reconnect your dm, don't worry, the port will automatically restart. I don't know why but I have to do this everytime I want to flash using the dreamup/null method.
