Hi All
Happy christmas
My wife bought a Samsung E1170 quite a while ago from Asda, only £15 including £10 credit.
Unfortunately Asda use Vodafone which doesn't work in my house.
So I discarded it to the cupboard.
I came across it Friday and bought an online unlock code for £4.
I got the code by email.

I tried to enter the code (*#9998*3323# but the first hash symbol wouldn't show on screen and I got the message
' password too short'

Anyway my question is the fone tells me that I only have 3 attempts left. What I want to know is, what happens to the fone if I run out of attempts?

Cheers
All

That code won't unlock the phone that you have anyway. Just tell the seller this, and get a refund. Samsung codes aren't cheap at all sadly. Cheapest way is to take it to an unlock shop.

Thanks mate.
They already told me they'll do refund.
Also that code is in the 'samsung unlock sticky' (silly sod I am!!)
Still, do you know what happens if 8 attempts is exceeded. i.e. does it brick permanently
