Howdy folks, could do with some help please. Daughter has a new tablet and would like to transfer things like candy crush, along with game progress

Doesn't matter if need to install app again, just don't want to lose progress.

Going from Gingerbread to Jellybean, and neither tablet is rooted.

Cheers

hey, think you would just install the app on the new device and sync it, the progress is kept if you got a facebook account.

Thanks mate. She doesn't use Facebook :( Is the sync function only available though that. Any other way?

Cheers

its going to depend on the app, things like Contacts are sync'ed to google account. There are apps to sync SMS messages. But for other apps, its a case by case basis. For example there are ways to get Minecraft backed up.

For Candy Crush, looks like there is an app available,

How to Transfer Candy Crush to a New Phone

Sigh :( No joy...

apps either require root or Helium doesn't work properly on < Jellybean, and Candy Crush Saga is a known problematic backup with it as well

Maybe try backing up the installation folder on the old tablet, should be located in /data/data/ and will be called com.king.candycrushsaga,

Then once the app is installed in the new tablet copy it over, overwriting the new installation folder,

Might work :)

Could you not sync to your fb then once transferred and signed in on new device you can sign out of fb straight away

Will that not leave a permanent association with that FB account?

All sorted :)

Ended up rooting both devices and used Helium to transfer. Thanks guys.
