Has anyone be able to successfully port forward with this plastic monstrosity?

I can't count how many configs and reboots thsi poor device has had over the past week but enough is enough.

Have Googled and been to official site but still no joy :(

Need to forward 30000 and 21, but when checking with on-line port checkers ports are always closed.

Have tried to forward to 2 machines, wired desktop and wireless laptop.

I have mine working using ports in the 80 range.

I'll have to check when I get home. upnp is enabled but cant remember the other ones.

Under services,I have these 4 options enabled
Ipsec PassThrough Enable
PPTP PassThrough Enable
Multicast Enable
Port Scan Detection Enable

Everything else on that page is disabled.

Is it possible your port 21 is in use by another service on your pc? Try using something like 88 or 89

Good luck.

no port I try to forward works, router might be stuffed, oh well have to call virgin customer support hell.

You could also try assigning a static IP for the device you are using and then use that address in superhub for port forwarding.
I have one IP camera seemed to work sometimes and then just stop. I assigned static for the camera and port forwarding and it is much more stable now.

all static except laptop :(

Hello Dave, regarding giving them a static IP address I've found that I could not give them a static address on the machine but rather I had to do it in the router it's self, (This is using the super hub as a modem and a router, just ordered a new one so I'll be turning it back into a modem only and then via a netgear with DD-WRT on it) also you could give the IP's a longer lease time, I set mine to about 9999999. just incase any new devices I don't get round to giving a static IP address will pretty much get the same IP with the release time being so long.

I'll be firing it up as modem mode as I say and then letting the new netgear do all the ports etc.

This is none related but for your info. (I've found that OpenDns needs to be set on the computer side of things as at the moment I can get it to work but I have to enable it under "use the following DNS settings" this is of course not what your wanting to know, but just thought I'd let you know in case you are any one might want to try open dnsin the future.)

As for your ports, you are going to port forwarding and not port triggering?

Just thought I'd ask mate.

(oh and could you not just add the device to the DMZ so for example suppose I wanted to open all the ports to the 360 for example, then if i want I could add it to the DMZ, after all I've never heard of any one hacking an xbox 360, how and what device I guess you will know mate.) ?

Dibbs.

tried DMZ, nothing
tried on lappy (dynamic) and HTPC (static), nothing
port forward not trigger, although tried trigger as well.
called virgin and they said I would have to pay to get help from their specialist team, WTF???

glad they have a modem only option now , when the update come will only use with my own router because of this

I've grew up with DD-WRT and love it, and for some reason I just like it for all it's functionality and the like, really good, had a look at Tomato and the like, but always come back to DD-WRT. Just got to wait for me "netgear" to get here now and this super hub is going back to "super modem" or should I say "super traffic shaped mo fo" modem...lol

all sorted here online

So your create a rule and then add the rule to the execptions....rather than add the IP address and port forward, you have to port range and then add it...if you get me ;)

nope you have lost me there, is this on the superhub.

got my new hub flashed dd-wrt but still will not forward in modem mode, even done a factory reset on the superhub

but xlink kai works sweet on my rgh, connects to my htpc which is running the engine and can browse for games on the rgh no problem :)

you need to open the port, and then forward it to the computer, two stages....

have a look at this....

This is how I have my ports set, works with no problems. All the IP's are set static on each PC or device, done at the device end not in the router.

I work the other way round as you know captin, I have then modem in "modem" mode and do all my devices in the router. I just find working with the router strightforwad when it comes to static IP addresses and DNS and the like. Each to thier own though, same results.....

That's a lot of cams you have! are you in a bank or something?
