StarView - How do I get into it?

Got my hands on a StarView HD box. I want to get the cline from it. Can this be done? If so, how? I tried using FTP and direct from the web browser using the IP address but no luck, so I'm guessing either direct USB, null modem cable or jtag.

The trader who supplied this box to my mate seems like one of those who sell clines to hundreds of people. Would they know if 2 boxes start using the same cline?

I would imagine the cline is matched to the box's mac address so no good on any other box
