standby function not working

hi
i was playing with the PVR feature on my openbox today
now when i press power button off or standy button on the receiver, the screen freezes, the LED display goes away
and i cannot power ON via remote or standby button
i have to switch the box off and on which is in the back of the box
this was with the nov patch

i put the october patch and tried the same
screen goes blank(good)
but the LED on receiver shows time 2338(which is now time)
and i cannot the power on via remote or standby button receiver
i have to switch the box on by the switch on the back of the box

not sure what is the problem
please help

mine wont actually go into standby it just turns off

oops..how do you switch it on?
from the remote from the switch on the back?

from the remote but it goes black no red light like is normal for standby

then i guess you will not know the channel number you are on from the front LED display

thats right no display at all when i press the power button when i press again it starts on the channel i was on before shut down this is with no timer set for recording
