Rangers v Hamilton
Rangers are boosted by the return of Pedro Mendes and Nacho Novo for their SPL game against Hamilton.

Mendes (thigh) and Novo (shoulder) are both now in contention to make their first appearances of the season in the clash at Ibrox.

Kevin Thomson is suspended, as well as struggling with a thigh strain, while Kyle Lafferty serves the last match of his suspension.
Accies news

Gary Mason will make his Accies debut after the midfielder signed a short-term deal on Friday.

Trent McClenahan has recovered from a hernia operation but the game comes too soon for the defender.

James Gibson (knee) and Alex Neil (hip) are long-term absentees, while Richard Offiong has completed his move to Carlisle.

Aberdeen v Motherwell
Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee will face off against former club Motherell for the first time since he took charge at Pittodrie.

McGhee left Well during the summer in order to fill the hole left by previous Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood.

The 52-year-old manager may hand a debut to new signing Davide Grassi, who was given a one-year contract with the club during the week.

But the Italian defender will have to receive international clearance by Saturday if he is to be eligible for the clash.

McGhee will have to do without Zander Diamond, Gary McDonald and Tommy Wright, who are all still sidelined for the Motherwell game.

The visitors will make a late decision on 17-year-old winger Paul Slane, who has been struggling with a calf injury recently.

Motherwell boss Jim Gannon should have Steven Hammell available after he sat out last weekend's victory over Kilmarnock with a muscle injury.

On-loan Everton striker Lukas Jutkiewicz is set to make his debut but Chris Humphrey may not be able to play due a family issue

Darren Smith is still out of action with a hip injury and is not due to return for several months.

Dundee Utd v Falkirk
Dundee United lock horns with Falkirk this Saturday and both sides have players on the mend.

United will welcome Danny Cadamarteri and Andy Webster back for the home Scottish Premier League clash.

Striker Cadamarteri missed Tuesday's Co-operative Insurance Cup win at Alloa with a throat infection and Webster was not risked on the Recreation Park artificial surface.

Boss Craig Levein will be minus skipper Lee Wilkie and long-term crocks Jon Daly and Kevin Smith, while Argentinian striker Damian Casalinuovo has joined Raith Rovers on loan.

Vitor Lima could return to the Falkirk squad for the SPL trip to Dundee after recovering from a thigh injury.

The midfielder missed last weekend's 3-1 defeat by Hibernian after suffering the problem during the opening-day loss at Rangers.

Striker Mark Stewart (groin) remains on the sidelines but is hoping to return after the international break.

Kilmarnock v St Mirren
St Mirren travel to Kilmarnock in search of their first Scottish Premier League win of the season.

The Saints scraped a 0-0 draw against Dundee United in their last SPL game, and will be hoping it is third time lucky in their search for a win in the league.

However, Gus MacPherson's side will have to do the job without Mo Camara and Chris Innes who are both expected to miss the trip to Rugby Park, while Chris Smith remains sidelined with a long-term injury.

Kilmarnock kicked-off their SPL campaign with a 3-0 win over Hamilton, but went down 3-1 in their last outing against Motherwell.

Iain Flannigan could shake off an illness in time to face the Saints, but Killie's Jamie Hammill will miss the game with a knee injury, while James Fowler is still out following a hernia operation.

St Mirren travel to Ayrshire hoping to complete a double success over clubs in the region, having dispatched of Ayr United in the Co-operative Insurance Cup on Wednesday.

Hibernian v Celtic
Celtic will be looking to bounce back from European disappointment when they travel to Hibernian on Sunday.

Hibernian, like Celtic, have won their opening two SPL games and will be looking to maintain their fine start to the season under John Hughes.

Hughes will check on the fitness of Yves Ma-Kalambay before finalising his line-up for the clash at Easter Road.

Goalkeeper Ma-Kalambay was always going to be rested for Wednesday night's Co-operative Insurance Cup second-round win over Brechin, but it has emerged he had a hip knock anyway.

Hughes has no other injury worries, although Kevin McCann, Merouane Zemmama and Jonatan Johansson may not be risked due to lack of match fitness, while Ian Murray serves the final instalment of his three-match SPL ban.
Celtic news

Stephen McManus returns to the Celtic squad as Tony Mowbray's men seek to recover from the UEFA Champions League defeat to Arsenal.

Mowbray quashed speculation that the Hoops' captain, who has overcome a knee injury, would be moving to Ipswich before confirming he is back in contention for Sunday's game.

Midfielder Landry N'Guemo returns after suspension but Massimo Donati is out as he is expected to complete his transfer to Italian club Bari.

St Johnstone v Hearts
Steven Milne is set to be available for St Johnstone as Hearts sweat on the fitness of Lee Wallace.

Milne picked up an ankle injury in Wednesday night's 6-0 Co-operative Insurance Cup second-round win at Arbroath.

Kevin Rutkiewicz (knee), Graeme Smith (thigh), Peter MacDonald (hamstring) and Kevin Moon (groin) are still on the sidelines alongside long-term injury victim Andy Jackson.
Hearts news

Hearts hope to have Wallace back from a hip injury but Csaba Laszlo has other concerns.

Marius Zaliukas is to serve the third game of his four-match domestic suspension after playing against Dinamo Zagreb.

Laryea Kingston (knee) is expected to remain on the sidelines, while Calum Elliot (knee) and Eggert Jonsson (hernia) are long-term absentees.

SPL round-up
Rangers march on as St Mirren and Falkirk also win

Rangers maintained their 100 per cent winning record by crushing bottom club Hamilton, while there were also victories for St Mirren and Dundee United.

Steven Whittaker and Kris Boyd both scored twice for Rangers as they cruised to a 4-1 success against Hamilton at Ibrox.

Mark McLaughlin pulled one back for Hamilton with three minutes remaining but the goal could not disguise an emphatic win for Gers.

St Mirren came from behind to stun Kilmarnock 2-1 and claim their first victory of the SPL season.

Conor Sammon broke the deadlock for Kilmarnock in the fourth minute but Stephen McGinn drew St Mirren level early in the second half and then netted again to seal the three points.

Danny Cadamarteri and David Goodwillie struck the crucial goals for Dundee United as they defeated Falkirk 2-1.

Kjartan Finnbogason reduced Falkirk's arrears but Eddie May's side remain without a point this term.

Aberdeen and Motherwell played out a goalless draw at Pittodrie in the final game of the day.

Hibernian 0-1 Celtic

Celtic maintained their 100 per cent start to the SPL season as Georgios Samaras' first-half header secured a 1-0 win at Hibernian.

Greek striker Samaras, who hit the bar earlier in the first half, glanced home the decisive goal on 41 minutes following Andreas Hinkel's cross from the right.

The Bhoys were reduced to 10 men just past the hour mark when Aiden McGeady was sent off after collecting a second yellow card for diving.

Hibernian came close to an equaliser moments later when David Wotherspoon's shot was turned on to the post by Artur Boruc before Samaras wasted an injury-time chance to put the game to bed.

lol, has someone tried to make the word 'diving' stand out? ;)

No complaints about the result, thought we were playing with 10 men, fecking pish. :Angryfire

Interesting to see what Gordon Smith makes of the diving incidents, I thought Killens was the worse of the two.

I agree with mcgeady but killen jumped over the tackle then got up and tried to get the ball, he never looked for the foul.

The ref got it right so smith wont get involved. olny if he dives and cons the ref into giving the wrong decison will they envoke article 10.
