I have this arguement with the mrs.. she says it doesnt snow at the north pole its ice.. but my reply is why is the "ice" white then?? when ice is clear like water :| women :|

I reckon we had 8 or 9 inches of snow, took me 1 hr to get home from work, usually takes 12 minutes. Cars abondoned all over the place. Habvent ssen snow like that for years.

East Belfast maryjam, The problem was if you got caught at the traffic lights, trying to get moving again was hell, slipping and sliding all over the place. Theres some pictures at BBC website but not many, reckon there will be plenty tomorrow.

Yeah looks good shaun m8.

I heard on radio that one radio presenter trying to get to Belfast had moved 0.6 mile in 1 hr. Weather forecast on BBC News 24 said we are in for 2-3 hours of heavy snow later on then it will turn to rain through the night. Apparently this heavy snow wasn't expected so thats why they got caught out and hadn't the roads gritted.

btw..I anyone is interested on how heavy the snow is here then watch News 24 as they have reporters here at Stormont and the kids are having fun in the park with their sleighs.
