rums: any one how to fx slow boot on sony viao laptop since installing win 10?

but lots of things can cause it mate

I agree with alimac, it could be anything but number one suspect would be if you did a software update to 10 or a clean fresh install of win10.

When/if I upgrade to win10, i'm going to ensure I do a clean fresh install rather than an update

updating is crap mate
personally would do clean install if really need it

format hd and reinstall windows fresh / remove all the sony vaio apps that came with laptop

disable fastboot in power options, reboot then re-enable.
