just bought a brand new skybox f5 and tried to load a channel list on it,but it froze.it is now stuck on a blank screen,with l100 displayed on it.i was told to use a rs232 lead to flash it.any idea how to go about this.cheers

You will need to get your self a RS232 null modem serial cable and a adapter as well if you don't have RS232 port on your pc.

hi,done everything u said.had to borrow a computer with a rs232 port on it,but the file wont load.keeps saying wrong file.

If file from one download site does not work try the others, I suggest you try recovery software and firmware from this site for the error you are getting

still stuck.if i turn the skybox f5 on without it connected to the satellite dish,it comes on.it also let me add a channel list.when i tried to add a line,it says to reboot at the end of adding it.if i turn the box off to reboot without connected to the satellite dish it will come back on without the line being active.if i connect to the dish,it sticks in load again?

Seems like your cable is shorting open up the f connector that connects to your box make sure it is not shorting there if it is not shorting there check at the lnb end check also for water seepage into connector one more thing to check is that the cable is not frayed along it's length.

went through all my leads,everything.my lead was a bit loose outside the house.had a connector,connecting 2 leads together.became a bit loose.got there in the end.up and running.thanks for all ur help.owe u big time.

To unlock all channels you first need to get a usb and download a cccam file open the cccam file in notepad buy a cline from a website or look for a free one on the web copy the cline and paste it on the cccam file save it and then eject it plug your usb in the sky box or openbox go on the menu and go on upgrade by usb go on misc files and press it look for cccam file and press upgr
