Sky One is bidding to broadcast a new Europe-wide lottery on Friday nights, according to this week's Broadcast magazine.
Called Euro Millions, the Camelot-organised competition is due to launch later this Spring in Britain, France and Spain. A further five countries will join in from 2005.
If successful with its bid, Sky One would broadcast the draw by means of a live entertainment show, positionging it at the heart of its entertainment schedule.
The weekly jackpot in the lottery is thought to be around £35m, a figure which is likely to increase as more countries participate
