In the run up to the International Day of Disabled Persons on December 3rd, Sky have announced plans for a regular signed movie segment
On December 3rd, Sky Movies 9 will broadcast signed versions of Bend it Like Beckham and Children of a Lesser God. This will be followed by a regular segment of signed films on the first Sunday of each month, starting Janaury 2004. These will be shown on Sky Movies 9.
Disabilty Manager at BSkyB, Kay Allen commented: "With the launch of sign language interpretation on Sky Movies, BSkyB is continuing to deliver on its commitment to accessible services. We are delighted to be making Sky Movies more accessible and enjoyable for deaf and hard of hearing viewers in this way".
