Setting up online PIN generation and REF list site

Hi SN

I got a three digit number from the keygen yesterday and again today.

0526148 returned returned 471.

Worked out manually as 9471.

Could it be you didn't add the missing number to the end of the hex table??

I'm not sure what you don't understand?
The pin is the four digit number you have to enter after having pressed red on xtraview. This number can be deduced from the seven figure user number on the xtraview screen.
Please read through the xtraview threads on the forum to find out more.

Hi again SN,

Now I'm getting a two digit number: 0587921 returns 28.

Should be 2989.

???

hamba: your right, I forgot to put in the extra digit... was half asleep :p

Fixed now, thanks!

SN,

I see it doesn't utilise the date codes or checksum i.e. xx2222x (where x are any random numbers) works. This is fine, I guess, since you only want the current days codes.

However it poses the problem of how do you know when the current days codes have been entered and not still on yesterdays? How about extra output depicting when the codes were entered (you could automatically update this when the new codes are entered by storing the date at that point - or simply add an extra input requirement (automatically using the DATE function and storing it sounds best though)).

The "final" version of this will display the days ref numbers on the site with time/date of entry and will allow people to input the details into a form & submit as opposed to manually passing the vars to the script, the current version was really just a proof of concept. Do you see any advantage to adding in the day & checksum check, I can see checksum being useful as it will allow me to point out they have pasted wrong but getting the ViewerID for the wrong day would be quite hard?!

Any other suggestions you have I would like to hear :D

Hi SN,

Yep! It's working now.
Keep up the good work. :O)

Don't know why I'm so keen - haven't been able to watch for more than about five minutes. It's all so boring - lol. :grayyawn:
The funs in being able to get it I suppose: like the reason for climbing Everest - "because it's there."

The checksum is of the six previous digits, so you have to have the date digits in too, but no I suppose you don't have to check there todays. Unless, of course someone works out there is a logic to the sequence of daily codes allowing them to be predicted!

You do know the date codes ARE specified in vcg.mhg

14= <V0P5M06D06>
21= 0
22= 5
23= 123
24= 315864920
25= 4231
26= 1097
27= 1
28= 1
29= 1
30= 1

So it is easy to check the first two digits are current, but I was more thinking to show that the codes being used are "current" (just in case anyone has screaming kids at 6am or 7am and desperate for free CN :) )

Once the system is working, if you want to expand it so it takes raw vcg.mhg files and estracts the codes automatically - check the open source ASN1c compiler http://lionet.info/asn1c/

Great minds think alike :)

I just wish I could fully automate it and get it to dump the mheg as well!

Tested it on my phones - works on the one with a true browser, but not my moto with its own version (just displays the enjoy part)

Still at least it means I can take my freeview box on the boat and watch fishing.
