if anybody is thinking of setting up a file share program ftp etc check to see if u have a static ip
found out bt broadband and blueyonder don't they have dynamic ip in other words when u go off line the ip changes which is no good as ppl will have the old ip which now belongs to somebody else go here sign up and get a way around the dynamic ip

thinking of this as well how many of u have a firewall and are wondering why u keep getting so many hits the way i see it is that if only 20% of the ppl have some sort of file share and other ppl are trying to connect to the ip addy that they have this may now be ur ip so that is why u get so many hits

hope this sorts out all the problems:D: :D: :D:

yep...those static ip-addys are great. I have one too. I got mine from http://dns2go.deerfield.com.
The only problem is...***ody can connect on my server...then my linux-server has a firewall which is blocking everythings. lol
I will have to reprogram the linux-server-bootdisc.

See You !
Angel !!!
