Around 6pm last night the dbox, virgin cable box and my wireless internet router all went off (they froze and needed turning off and on).

Upon restarting them up the virgin cable box displayed some error codes (er 11, 16, 12 and eventually went to channel 999 an hour later) - when the virgin box and wireless internet router also started working normally again.

However, when it came to the dbox restarting it said there were no channels found and to do a servicescan - which I did. Unfortunately the servicescan didn't find any channels (or providers) - so I did a servicescan with the 'section scan' option turned on. The scan found about 30 channels (usually a service scan finds about 300-ish channels) - some skymovie channels, some bbc kids channels, a couple of porn and some bbc 3&4 - but nowt else.

Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions to find all the missing channels?
(could it be that I need to find the latest keys for my area, update them to the dbox and do another servicescan?)

Any and all help much appreciated - thanks :)

I live an ex-Telewest area (Dudley), using a nokia dbox2 with the Pacino image.

Previously the servicescan found all the channels using 'cable provider 6952' - though I have also tried using the 'cable provider 6887' and 'bruteforce for uk' - but no luck.

Try finding the service file for your area and ftp them to your dbox. My dbox never found any channels but when i sent the service and bouquets over everything worked perfectly. Could be that your tuner is just a bit tempremental.

Also.... Keys have no bearing on actually finding channels in a scan, they are only used to decrypt the streams once setup on the box.

cheers for the help and info lads - will try to ftp the service files across and if that doesn't work I'll go for installing a new image.

:)
