Britain is set to swelter in Mediterranean temperatures this weekend as the country enjoys a mini heatwave.
Roads to the coast are likely to be busy with city dwellers flocking to the seaside to cool off as the mercury hits the high twenties.
London and the south are expected to reach highs of 27-28C on Saturday and forecasters predict this will steadily increase to a peak of up to 32C by Tuesday.
"It looks absolutely gorgeous, with the sunshine spreading right up into Scotland eventually," said BBC meteorologist Victoria Good.
"We could see those highs hitting 30 or even 32 and it's a fantastic weekend to set off for the coast.
"In Scotland temperatures will be a little cooler but there should be increasing amounts of sunshine for the T in the Park music festival near Kinross."
She added: "But it will break eventually - we will probably see thundery showers creeping into the south west corner".
Experts are confident that Monday will break this year's current record of 30.5C, in Shepshed, Leicestershire, on 22 June.
