Just a quick one, I want to replace the original hard drive in my Dell Dimension E520 PC, It is 2 years old and I do not have Vista discs I believe the back up files for the operating system is on a partition on the hard drive.

Any ideas please?

You make a ghost partition using the likes of Acronis true image or Norton Ghost.

Once you make a backup of your system, put it new hdd and restore the image to it. You will need to make a boot cd for Acronis so you can boot off the cd and find the image you saved, you can save the image to another hdd or if you are still going to use the old hdd for backup, then save it there but dont unplug the old hdd, just change the jumper on back to slave and set neww hdd jumper as master.

Thats probably sounds complicated but its easy.
