Region coding for Blu Rays on US PS3

Sorry if this has been asked before or if it's in the wrong section but wondered if anyone had a solution to this?

I've had my ps3 since launch and bought a US version to have one asap at the time.
Thing is, more and more Blu Rays are coming with region coding by the looks of it so I'm having to buy US discs.

Anyone know if there is any way around this at all?

May be worth looking into custom firmware now seeing as the Warranty has well and truly expired?

you would need to get it downgraded or buy a downgrader yourself. as im assuming its on a fairly recent firmware

to be honest, if its only uk blurays that you are interested in, then you would be as well buying a cheap bluray player
