Refurbished Computers At Decent Prices. Save hundreds of £'s on decent gaming systems

I've bought one,It had a bad stick of ram,Which was replaced but it still gets blue screen of death every now and then.
I honestly would not recommend.

I will consider myself bollocked then

And its here yay... Interlink express mucked up the tracking so I was not expecting it today, however the left a card so I assumed I had to goto the depot.

However, Half an hour later i look at the card and notice that they put it in my shed! lol Normally I order stuff using citylink and they make me goto the depot so, one up for Interlink.

Ok time for some pics :

Neatly Packaged, oh theres two boxes! I wonder whats inside.. -

I'll take some CPU/MB temps once i've installed XP/Server03.

You don't get an OS.

I've got got around to installing XP so i need to wait for Server 2003 to finsh up, then I'll get the rest of the specs and temps.

Also take note - You don't get any cables at all. You don't get any drivers either, lucky for me I know how to do hardware dectection but for novice users this will be a nightmare.

I will show you how to do hardware dectection in my next post to make it 10x easier to find drivers for novices.

Very informative.

Cheers mate.

Also some do come with OS, it says at the end of each PC what OS they have (if they do come with one.)

I have just told someone over PM to go and get an Athlon 5600+, 1gb ram, 250gb hd etc, including delivery it comes to just over £120.

To buy seperate the CPU, board, case and PSU would cost that, so they have got a free 1gb ram, free DVD burner, and free 250gb hard drive.

Eeeek, what a bargain!!!

Think I will be using these for my local ads instead of building myself. Not sure how well Dell machines sell second hand, but I will put a few testers out to see if I get any calls. If I do then I will snap some up.

Anyway keep us informed mate as to how the sytem runs.

Cheers.

Lol, My PC i built myself 2 years ago @ £500 runs at about 55C idle and has a 2x 120mm fans.
The dell @ £150 runs at about 30C idle and has 1x 60-80mm fan. It boggles the mind.

My PC is about 1.8Ghz, the dell is 2.2Ghz... Im tempted to swap PC's :p

Entire specs are here :

Passed all the stress tests.

I don't know what your previous build pc processor was but Core2 Duo's are designed to run a LOT cooler.
I've got an E6400 Core2Duo in a PhongII case and my system idles at 22C.

Hmmmm damn it lol

I never put any paste on it and its just using the standard fan so I'm not surprised :p Any recommendations?

Yeah these new Intel cores run very cool, hence loads and loads of leeway for overclocking. Obviously not with a Dell machine as they cripple the bios.

I may purchase one of these for my dad. He was up the other day saying he needed a new PC. I told him not to see anyone else under any circumstances as he was robbed when he bought his current system 2 years ago, he paid £200 for a PIII 1ghz second hand heap of shit with a CRT monitor even though he knew I can build computers, the utter muppet, lol. (I actually had more than that in my cupbaord sitting doing naff all which I eventually gave away!!!)

So anyway I told him I would build him one for £150 so don't feck around with anyone else. Now it looks like I can get him a very good one for about £130ish.

Pleased to see it running well mate.

The guy above is using a last gen processor and is getting 22C infact he has the 6400 I have the 6300. Hmm?

The Jeantech PhongII case helps considerably. There is a 120mm fan at the front pulling air in and a 80mm fan at the back.

If you do a google search for the Phong case you'll see its one of the best in terms of cooling which is why I bought it.

But I gotta agree with Digicol. I build pc's and sell them on but the prices on the site may make it a better alternative.

Demonx did you mean the one you built yourself is the 6300 which is hitting high 50 degrees at idle?

If so then I would remove the heatsink and fan and also the processor and give it a good clean using this:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139175

A quick Google will give you instructions on how to exactly clean your heatsink and your processor (this is important so please do Google it, it is a simple process but important to get right.) It will not take long to do it and this stuff is not oil based so will give a nice clean finish on both components ready for a great conduction between the two and the compound of your choice. Which most people would use this:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/126410

I bet that will bring your temps down to the high 30's low 40's, probably lower if you have the right airflow.

I tend to use this stuff myself which is cheaper, but for my computer builds I don't really overclock or do much with them, most computer geeks will tell you that the one above is the be all and end all of thermal compound, but I think this stuff does a job for most users and does reduce the temps!!

Thanks i'll look into that later, I'm busy tryin to get shitty Server 03 to activate its not working :(
Might just dual boot XP and XP lol...

CPU is running at about 47C after i got the dust out of it.. :)

That depends on what your into mate.

Both at a decent price.

The top one is better value, probably the one I would get. But both are closely matched. It all depends on what you want from the computer.

If you play games on it then the top one is the better choice.

There is no right or wrong purchase with either mate, it all depends if your more into storage and such or playing games.

Both will cost about £360 to build and your getting them for under £300 delivered.

Personally I would get this one over your two:

MCS Code............... MN029
Model.................... Inspiron 530
Case Type.............. Tower
CPU...................... Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz
Memory (MB)........... 2048
Hard Disk (GB).......... 500
Optical Drive/s.......... DVD & DVD-RW
Video .................... 256mb Radeon HD 2600XT
Soundcard............... Onboard
USB Ports................ 8
Card Reader............ Yes
£198.75 + vat and delivery.

The reason being is the the 2600XT is slightly faster than the 8600GT, not quite as good as the 8600GTS, but the 2600XT is designed for playing HD (HDCP enabled) content as it is only one of two cards that has a built in upscaler. Nvidia cards do not do this.

Also your saving £30 on the above two, yes I lknow this one only comes iwht 2gb of ram, but 4gb is overkill for a 32bit OS and if you did need an extra gb, if there are any free memory slots left you could just add one later, but I am sure 2gb will be fine.

Also I prefer one large hard drive over multiple small ones, also you could add another drive if you wanted as you will certainly have a free space inside. Oh just noticed you also get an extra DVD drive thrown in and the card reader.

This one is the better value out of them all.

Cheers mate will not be using the GFX card as I will upgrade this to something else and stick the one supplied into another build. Will have a think about it

Thanks a lot
