Was thinking of buying one of these to replace my pc as it needs an upgrade again :(

So i wanted to no whats it like for browsing the internet and can you install programs like ppmate ect for watching football games over the net. cheers steve

dont even consider the ps3 as a replacement for the pc. its a games console.

buy a cheap pc for a couple of hundred quid from most shops these days

the ps3 doesnt know what it is but its defo no replacment for a pc,

and if its a games console where the bloody hell are the games,at the mo mine is a nice dust magnet

If you install linux then you wont be able to play games.... pointless,.

ok thanks for the replys, might aswell wait till the end of the year then until its come down abit and there's better games out, just use my current pc for internet stuff :)

I don't think that's entirely true.

However, I would wait until a stable version of linux is available, get yourself a copy of vlc player (that works) and then stream the footy.

I'm very sure you can play games with a dual boot of the ps3 xmb and linux.
