Problems with DVB box

Hi there, just new to the site.
Recently got myself a DVB set topbox and iam having problems getting it to work. I am not very good at this type of thing so any help would be much appreciated.
I have plugged it all in and went to the set up and scanned for my channels etc but it still just pops up a box saying "Service could not be found"
Does anyone have any ideas where i might be going wrong?

are there settings in the scan menu?

symbol rate
net id
frequency?

u will need to set for ur area for a successfull scan

In the menu it is Frequency, Modulation and Symbol rate.
How do i find out the information for my area mate?

what area are u in mate and what are ur settings so far

The settings at the moment are Frequency - 00755 MHZ
Modulation - 64-QAM
FEC - Auto
Symbol Rate 6887 KSymb/s

My area is Paisley mate.

try the other symbol rate of 6952 mate

looks like it's set to glasgow 1

net id = 00002
freq = 755000 khz
sym rate = 6887

other glasgow is
net id = 40984
freq = 619000 khz
sym rate = 6952

is this a dreambox 500c?

Hi, I have the same problem, I have DVB600 (DM600) and been using it in huddersfield but now moved to Birmingham and tries scanning Bruteforce, 6887, 6952 but only recievig couple of freeview channels. Please help as i am a cricket over and missing champios trophy.....thanks
