Printer Problem

Hi, the problem is when i try to print with my black ink cartridge in i get this error up

What can i do to fix this prob? cheers

theres not a power light, however all these lights are flashing Best,Normal,Fast

Iv'e tried removing the black cartridge and it prints without it, but i thought it cant be that much stopping it from printing black when the cartridge is full

I am not too familiar with your printer, but maybe you have a damaged print head?

I would think its a coule of years old yes, would this be the cause?

possibly, i am not 100% sure though.

is there any thing on the hp website about cleaning print heads?

HP Print Carts are intelligent as the head is built in to it.

If the head fails the self test it will be deemed bad. When the heads are deemed bad they need to be replaced. It may also have an inbuilt timer to determine how old the ink is. As old in will thicken and separate slightly. This will impair the print quality.

ahh, there you go then - couldnt be more precise than the support pages at hp themselves

are the cartidges fairly old, or unused for some time? This could be what the issue is.
