plz help

You most likely corrupted 'c:\windows\system32\config\system' file.

If you can boot up into dos and check whether there maybe a backup file then copy that as system.

put in your XP disk and boot from the XP disk
press R to go into recovery mode (do NOT do a REPAIR INSTALL!! - you want to go into the DOS-BASED recovery mode! so it might be F8 or another key but I forget)
try typing in

chkdsk c:
fixboot
fixmbr

the problem is (as others have said) that the PC can't find any OS.
give these a try maybe.
you can do a repair install but it is NOT RECOMMENDED - you might as well boot a linux liveCD, back up your stuff, and re-install from scratch.

tried this

when i press R it says
setup is inspecting your computers hardware configeration
then theres just a black screen and nothing happens,

uh ok,
press the key that says recovery console, i dunno if it's "r"
your disk must be fubarred if it says that
(it should say that before you even can choose the key anyway)

if it's a black screen, it'll ask you which install to login to
choose 1 (admin)
type your pass and you're away

check your disk isn't dirty if not
o_O

sorry for late reply too...

The best option is a complete fresh install. Only do this if u have the drivers for the computer or be reasonably sure you can get the drivers.

Other than that then do a windows Repair. Follow this tut if u are unsure how to do it.

you said about only doing a fresh install if i had the drivers.
is the motherboard disk i got with computer the drivers
sorry if im melting heads just wanna be sure to do the right thing,

It should be m8.

If not then post the name of all the hardware here and we should be able to find them for u. :)

Right Nearlly There. I Got A Fresh Windows Xp Install And Used My Motherboard Disk
To Install The Drivers Everything Weny Ok. But I Cant Get An Internet Connection Now.
I Have A Cloned Ambit 250 And Its Working Away On This Laptop Im Useing
But When I Plug It Into My Other Computer It Says This

Connection Status
Limited Or No Connectivity
The Problem Occured Because
The Network Did Not Assign A
Network Address To The Computer.

Dont Know What You Mean Mate.
I Dont Have Dvd For An Internet Connection.
I Thought It Should Come On Automaticaly When Pluged Into Comp
????

If you move the network cable from your laptop into your PC, make sure to repair connection on the PC. This will cause your computer to ask your ambit for internet connection details.

Is it plugged into a router or straight into the modem??

If straight into the modem

try going to network properties and right click on your LAN adapter then Repair.

If this does not work. (I prefer this method anyway) goto run and type "cmd"
when command prompt comes up type ipconfig /release[ENTER] then ipconfig /renew[ENTER]

If this still does not work then goto lappy Run-->type cmd /k ipconfig /all
write down the ip add, subnet, the default gateway, Primary DNS (194.168.4.100) and secondary DNS (194.168.8.100)

then goto comp and into right click on the LAN adapter---> properties

double click TCP/IP
check Use the following IP addressed
fill in the appropriate information from lappy
check Use the following DNS Servers
in primary put 194.168.4.100
in secondary put 194.168.8.100
