please help

Never had anything to do with Dbox2 nokia a mate turned up with one today that he claims has just stopped working this week. Im in a pure ntl area (scunthorpe) 3.7 I've no idea if it just needs to be reset and and auto searched (if so how) done a search but its all greek to me

When l boot it up it says "COMMANDO 6 WOD"

Can his box be sorted via windows as I've been told l ned to use Linux which l dont have on my pc and no idea how to use it .

Any help or advice would be great
