pc to laptop transfer

is there a lead that i could use to transfer files from my pc to my laptop and is there a particular piece of software i would need. both the pc and laptop have usb2, comm ports and parralell ports.

Do you have ethernet (network) ports on both computers. Also what operating system are you running on each one.

If you have Ethernet ports on both you need to buy a crossover cable. (i got mine for £3.50)

You can do it via any of those connections, with the right software...

Personally I'd use an Ethernet port if possible though, or buy a USB to Ethernet adapter, which then would be just like using an Ethernet port, only using a USB port.

Laplink used to handle Parallel and Serial/Comm connections just fine.
