opkg update

hi all
i'm running on dbuk 2.1 on my dm800se
and previously had no problem updating or installing plugins..

however in the plugin menu wont let me install or update saying maybe a opkg update needed??? am stumped as i did a software update.. 140 items but after reboot it still says 140 left to do ?

any help would be great

Some plugins will need newer dependencies that are not available on the server that the image downloads from.

I'd recommend OpenPLI image by Gjstroom.

Update feeds are no longer supported and have been removed, best to use the gjstroom image, as Abu advises, as he has setup his own feeds for his image

Use telnet

Login

then type

opkg update

Then try install your plugin

tried that and the bloody box wont let me login!! type in root and then dreambox for the password and it says not found..
used it just the other month to telnet ts media.. so i'm stumped

Maybe try dreamboxuk as the password?

i know it has been started on here before. but can you tell me how to install through telnet..

ie live football: i have the file.. put it in tmp, then telnet live football??

also opkg wouldn't update, ... i need to find the update online??

transfer the ipk to the tmp folder

Now in telnet type

opkg install -force-overwrite /tmp/*.ipk

i thought that maybe if i found an opkg update online i could download it and manually install that...

can you tell me the coding for updating live footall update pls.. ive put it in the tmp folder..
and tried numerous codes in the telnet.. all to no avail]
