only ethernet with flash from oled

hi guys
i wonder if sumone would help me
i have wanted a dreambox 800 sincehey came out but havent been able to afford 1 (still cant)
i thought my cheapest option is to buy faulty and repair it miself
i bought faulty box from fleebay
box in great condition only just 12 months old but with error of only ethernet lights on ive seen that there is a fix for this so saw it as a good bet
so now have a box that i need to fix
been trying the methods 1 and 2 in the stage 2 zip but cant seem to get it to work
ive opened the box and tried without tuner and put it back in and all seemed ok in the box (no brown marks)
tried on xp mode and win 7 64bit but cant get it to go
when i plug in power i get a flash from oled but thats all no ip nothing
can anyone suggest anything ive missed

I've repaired a few 500's but haven't played with an 800 yet so just guesswork here.
I would be looking for a power fault.

First I would try an alternative psu.
Then I would disconnect the display and see if it boots. I am unsure whether or not the display is included in the POST.
If still no signs of life I would reconnect the display and take voltage readings and backtrack if any are missing.

I haven't found the fix you have so don't know if you have already tried any of this.
