not a valid ps2 disk

i bought swap magic for the kids ps2 but when i try and play a backup it says its not a valid ps2 disk. is there a trick to this that im missing? ive tried burning backup from disk with nero and alcohol also tried burning a downloaded image still get same result.

any help mucho appreciated.

Sounds like either crap discs, dying laser or you're burning them wrong mate.

Remember there are TWO different boot discs in Swap Magic, one for CD based games and one for DVD.

Do your backups work on other machines?

ive tried backing up some disks to Aone dvd-r and tried burning a downloaded mds/mdf to cd (asda branded)
I dont know if they work on other machines witchy i just done them and dont have another machine to try em.
maybe theres a tut on here that i missed on best way to backup/burn. i have looked on a few other forums but methods seem to vary.
i do know that some burned dvd films wont play on the machine so maybe your right about the dying laser thing ?

works now since i realised you got to lock the DVD tray once you swap disks ..DOH!
