Hello people, i am looking to get a new Eurovox EX1000 SL box as a spare for another room. Just wanted to know once purchased from any store online would just updating the firmware be enough for the box to work with every channel or is there anything else i need to do. I am newbie at this so any help would be highly appreciated.

As a newbie are you aware that the encryption is due to change soon and that it could well be switched over in as little as a matter of a few months? Something alse to consider b4 parting with your cash.

thanks for all the replies guys, but i have a problem. The new box arrived i uploaded the latest firmware and did a scan. it finds all the channel but i can only view free to air chanels. on other channels it says please wait updating code. I have tried a fast scan and also a deep scan but the same thing. Could someone help.
