Well I finally got it working!!!
I purchased a usb to serial adapter for my laptop, as it doesn't have a com port.
Tried it with my old null cable and nothing.
Tried it with my new cable and boom...it springs into life.
Although I was using my com port on my main computer for sssp on my technomate, it musn't like my dm500s for some reason.
So if you get it recognising the box, but does nothing.... it's probably the com port.
So I have now flashed with gemini 4.00 and put back all the channels using dreamboxedit.
What a journey...
