im back,ive got my connection setup like this ive got my bt voyage modem going to my usb port,then ive got a network cable going from my nic on pc to my xbox,ive just got my mum to phone bt and order a router,so that should do it.

You will need XP pro setup for home networking, so it can assign an IP addy to the XBox when it boots up.

im only using xp home m8 could that be why?
