Look into freeNAS. Will do all you need without having to spend out on another unit.

Well depends what you want out of the nas.

Power vs performance

And considering a tower based nas won't need gfx / sound. Etc. will only pull what power it needs.

I have just bought and setup a NAS310 and so far its looking pretty good, still exploring new features. Its small n all!

I use a synology disk station . Nice bit of hardware It would do all you want and more

HP Microserver, this is an older N36L but only difference between that and later N54L model is CPU is a bit slower.

This one is on fleabay for a ton.
