Phone Unlocking n95 volume

Hi all jusy got a nokia plum n95 today and have turned the volume up full wack in profiles. but when im on the fone and trying to here someone on the other end its really quiet is this yhe norm for this fone. Any help much appreciated.

phone someone, and when they answer or while it is ringing use the buttons on the right hand side of the phone on turn it up untill the black bars on the phone are full.

or if you have broken them use the left and right buttons in the centre of ther phone
