My New PC Repair company

looks well m8 very professional without being sterile if you know what I mean.

Couple of things you could do. Get local phone number. People see free phone number and think expensive. Your charges seem aimed at the cheaper end market. Make Birmingham and computer repair bullet points on your site for google spider. Just looking at your home page people will have no idea where your based at the moment. I would put Birmingham U.K on home page and a local number This works. Very nice easy to use site. You should also offer web design on this showing. Good work and good luck.

thank you very much for your comments

yes a local number and idea of area would be good

it is in the title description but i think in the ocverview section would be preferred

your the 5th person to tell me 0800 is expensive, based on that people use their mobiles more and more

hassle comes with the job, and yes i have had some really stupid comments, but thats why u charge by the hour :)

nice design and simple layout.
just one comment, not sure about the white on white of the "CO" part of MPS COMPUTERS on the home page at the top. that whole title just doesn't look as good as the rest of the site. no offence intended mate

Looks good ephid0r, but try and get rid of the grocer's apostrophes if you want it to look really professional. I spotted quite a few of them.

There's a lazy thread somewhere, but I can't be bothered looking for it.

Nice site and easy to navigate.
Good luck with your venture.

It amazes me how some people are scared of tinkering around with their PC's.
My last job involved reseating a couple of sticks of RAM.

Time taken - 2 minutes
Payment - Bottle of Glenmorangie
Reason given to customer - Checked RAM, MoBo, HD, PSU, Power Switch, Cabling etc :)

did you say this was your first website design? pretty damn good for a first time, i remember my first website, jebus it was terrible... i think i could draw a better one with crayon nowadays.
i've been designing web pages for over a decade now, so hope you don't mind me adding a few suggestions.

work on your images, if you have multiple images on a single page, try perhaps making them the same size, by either enlarging/shrinking the image or giving them a border.

i would change the MPS COMPUTERS title you have on each page, ryanbad touched on the white on white issue but also because you've beveled it and the text isn't anti-aliased, what software are you using? adobe fireworks is perfect for web graphics and easy to grasp.

also i would put 'Call FREE now on 0800 612 4176' instead of 'Ring FREE now on 0800 612 4176'. or even maybe 'Call now on FREEPHONE 0800 612 4176'

although not important it's always good practise, try validating your code via World Wide Web consortium (W3C), you can run your site through their code validator. this helps a lot with cross platform compliancy ie working on firefox, safari, Internet explorer etc...

snore... sorry if i'd bored anyone half to death...

if you want any advice or help dude, send me a pm, i'll help with the odd graphic if you'd like or some flash. i enjoy mucking about with images and flash design, so if you gave me something to do you'd be doing me a favour

cheers

I would get rid of the serif fonts. Also i'm not sure about the clouds, not really sure how this is relevant. Maybe replace with something computer related. Also, the title of this topic says it's a new business but the site says it's been going for 11 years lol.

I like the layout though, it's very good.

Yep that's a fact Seedy.
Since i was a kid i have taken things apart and had a go
I can't believe the amount of 5min fixes i have done over the last 6 months.
It also stuns me the amount of crap people have loaded and lack of basic pc knowledge.
How some of the systems i have seen even boot up is a miracle.
All loaded with blue chip bloatware and trial programs..
