I think he meant that that bike is so shit it smells of shit.

There is a lot to learn, and I'm nowhere near knowledgeable on this subject, but you really are better off starting off with a good frame/front fork, and working your way onwards.

Oh I see lol, Can you recommend a good one then at a decent price..?

For decent bike you need to spend a minumum of 400 quid and thats for a hard tail 800 for a soft tail.

I think mairy might be being a bit inflexible here.

I got a £300 for £250 (specialized hardtail) and I love it.

Now, as I start to spend more I'm sure I will appreciate the differences but for a beginner I think £300 is a good price for a hardtail.
