More Astra '08 woes :(

I've now found out that after an MOT, the Astra SRI '08 had to have both the brake discs and pads replaced all round, as there was an imbalance in the braking, resulting on rusting on one side, costing around £350 (including MOT cost).

I've looked at the discs and found they have been replaced with standard rather than vented discs. Is this the going rate with the standard discs? Or should, at that price, be 'like for like' and be vented. It's just for 'piece of mind'.
