MIRC

Can anyone remember using MIRC back in the day? I used to use my old pc as a server for karaoke. There wasnt a track I couldnt find.

I used to use mIRC, it was the original way of sharing stuff. Still does get used by some I believe, but other stuff is faster and more secure now.

IIRC you had to enter a command, and then wait, and when it was your turn it downloaded. Im talking a long time ago though, proper old skool stuff mIRC was. Im sure a few others will remember mIRC as well, I know a few people here have sailed the high seas

2 weeks! And the rest.

Back in the day, when we worked at NTL, we used to take a PC in on the weekend, and hook it up to the T1 connection they had, and just download stuff all weekend. Was brilliant, until they found out and blocked all the protocols :/

even torrents etc dont have those odd files that were rare.
