Making AU CARD ???????????

Hi, after successfully making a ru car, i now wud like to make an au card, ive had a look on wolverines tutorials, i wanted to know wether mkfind4 works with elvis programmer, anf if so,,,, will i damage my original card if i use elvis instead of phoenix programmer interface...
another question .....how long does an au card last for ????
